As Woodruff reflects on three years of employee ownership, the full-service marketing and communications company is celebrating its evolution by announcing transitions in its executive leadership team. Effective immediately, Shelley Thompson is the company’s new chief executive officer, Scott Kington is its president, and Terry Woodruff, one of the company’s founders, becomes the chairman of the board.
“As our founder and leader for nearly 28 years, Terry made sure we embraced our entrepreneurial side and evolved and adapted to meet our clients’ needs, even when they didn’t always realize what they needed yet,” says Shelley Thompson, chief executive officer. “We’re focused on continuing that legacy. Since becoming an employee-owned company, we’ve expanded and strengthened our capabilities, enhanced our client service and drawn an increasingly talented team of professionals. Scott and I are looking forward to continuing to guide that evolution now and in the future.”
In the past three years, Woodruff has expanded its capabilities in a number of areas, including digital strategy and development, SEO, e-commerce, social media and analytics. Additionally, it has invested in its core services including strategic planning, creative, public relations, content and production.
