AAF-KC is one of the oldest and largest advertising chapters in the country. We’re also the most passionate. AAF-KC and Ad 2 are all-volunteer organizations, and we rely on the dedication and talents of our volunteers. That in mind, it's time to vote for the 2019-2020 AAF-KC Board of Directors and Ad 2 Council candidates!

Get to know the 21 candidates below, and once you’re ready, cast your ballot for the future of the club.

You must be a current member of AAF-KC in order to vote. If you are a member of Ad 2 and/or Art+Copy Club, you are also a member of AAF-KC.

Jordan Haiduk // Signal Theory

I am a Senior Producer at Signal Theory and have previously been Ad 2 President, Vice President, Communications Director and was nominated for Ad 2 Member of the Year in 2015. After taking a break for a couple years, I’m now looking forward to the opportunity to volunteer my time on the AAF-KC Board of Directors and would love to continue contributing to the organization that has helped me along the way.

People who know me say that you’ll know if I’ve been working on a project. I strive to leave my mark of quality on each and every thing I touch. My energy and love for the advertising world is endless, inspiring and certainly contagious. Better watch out, folks.


Bryan Herrman // GlynnDevins

I have been an active and steadfast member of the Kansas City advertising community for 25 years, having served on the AAF-KC Board of Directors and several committees in the past.

Most of my career was spent at Barkley, where I was Senior Vice President/Account Leadership for 15 years, leading teams on national brands like Hershey, Russell Athletic, Anheuser-Busch, Noodles & Company, Helzberg Diamonds and Build-A-Bear Workshops. Earlier in my career, I worked in corporate marketing roles with Citibank, Best Western Hotels and CSK Automotive. I’ve held jobs in nearly every discipline of advertising & marketing from designer/illustrator to research director to brand strategy, account leadership and agency president.

I’m most passionate about helping young people who want to get into this business, and am proud to have mentored many of KC’s current and next-generation advertising leaders since they were college students. I co-chaired AAF-KC’s Student Career Day for seven years and was an AAF-KC Scholarship Program mentor for more than 10 years.

In 2018, I joined GlynnDevins to lead their growing research & consulting practice, leading a team based in Richmond VA. I’m now SVP of Marketing, leading all B2B business development efforts for the largest marketing services firm in the Senior Living category, with 250 associates across the country.

As an AAF-KC Board of Directors member, I would like to continue working to identify, recruit and develop the future leaders of the Kansas City advertising community.

Katie Hilty // MMC Corps

I’ve currently served on the AAF-KC Board of Directors for one year now. During that year, I’ve co-chaired three, going on four, successful Wednesday Acceleration events. I’ve also spent this time getting to know all the events that we hold and soaking up the other ins and outs of the club.

I have a passion for creating and, for the past six years, I have been leading strategic branding efforts for an 80-year-old commercial construction company. It’s been an incredible learning experience, as I’ve been a part of the development of our first true brand identity.

I find my inspiration from absorbing everything around me, and I believe anything can be a creative influence on a project. I’m hoping to continue my involvement with the AAF-KC community to keep the ball rolling on our programming efforts.


Brant Kunze // Chemical Universe

I’m a graphic designer, photographer, veteran, world traveler and lover of all things Kansas City. I enjoy taking complex organizational challenges and turning them into beautiful, creative and effective designs and have a high passion for art, craftsmanship, large and small brand identity and design technology.

I’m a Park University graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. I served as the university chapter of AIGA’s Co-Vice President from 2018-2019, organizing student events, including the Graphic Design class of 2018 Senior Thesis show, which showcased each senior’s individual integrated brand campaign project and group projects.

I’m the lead Graphic Designer at a local private branding chemical manufacturer and distributor. Last year, my environmental graphics display was presented to over 16,000 industry leaders at ISSA, a national chemical manufacturers trade show in Dallas, TX.

I have a passion for photography and work on the side as a freelance photographer. Currently, I am collaborating as a designer on the 2019 AAF-KC Ad Wars branding campaign.

As a Kansas City area native, I’m a die-hard Royals and Chiefs fan. I’m also dedicated to giving back to his community and have volunteered as a Big Brother through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kansas City youth mentoring program since 2017.

I served in the United States Army as a Cavalry Scout from 2004-2011, completing two tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. As a Staff Sergeant I was awarded the Army Commendation Medal with Valor for outstanding leadership during a combat mission.

I continue to travel the world with my wife. I find design inspiration everywhere and capture it with both my camera and pen. I enjoy blending both mediums of photography and graphic design to communicate a unique visual representation of my experiences.


Jordan Warren // DEG, Linked by Isobar

Five years ago, I joined Ad 2 Kansas City to grow my skills, network and get a leg up in this industry. What I never thought I'd find is a love for this community of creators, entrepreneurs and dreamers.

After serving four years on the Ad 2 council of directors as communications director, president and American Advertising Awards director, I'm ready to move up to AAF and continue organizing inspiring events and connecting professionals with incredible opportunities in our city.

As a marketing copywriter at DEG, Linked by Isobar, I have the privilege of watching the digital transformation of advertising every day. With such a rich history of advertising in Kansas City, I want to help showcase our local agencies' accomplishments with AAF.

When not nerding out on advertising, you can find me playing ultimate frisbee around town and organizing events and leagues as president of Kansas City Ultimate. Or singing in my car. I'm always singing.

Rylie Allen // Arrow Truck Sales, Inc.

I graduated from Pittsburg State University in 2016 where I studied graphic design, Spanish, and marketing. Currently, I work as a Graphic Designer and Marketing Assistant for a Volvo company that sells semi trucks.

I got involved with Ad 2 when I learned about Virtual Agency. Discovering Ad 2 has really opened my eyes to the great community of advertisers in Kansas City. Meeting and working with like-minded people has inspired me, as well as helped me find my way as a professional in this city.

I wish I had learned about Ad 2 earlier in my post-graduate life, but I’m hoping to take advantage of this opportunity to become more involved.

When not working or volunteering, I spend my free time fixing up my house with my husband, hanging with my animals, and collecting house plants (I’ve only killed one so far).


Catie Drummond // Signal Theory

I’m a Nebraska native who moved to Kansas City after graduating from Northwest Missouri State University with a Broadcast Production degree. Now, I’m a project manager at Signal Theory.

As an organizer at heart, I thrive in chaos and excel at finding creative solutions to client challenges. My passion for advertising is rivaled only by my passion for my sweet, yet sassy, cat. Merit loves to curl up with me while I unwind with yet another good fantasy book. Need a new series? I have plenty of recommendations!

I attended my first Ad Wars trivia night in 2016 and have since supported Ad 2 through attendance and engagement at various events. As a council member, I hope to usher in a strong and diverse new generation of advertisers as part of this council.


Ashley Ervin // Saint Luke's Health System

A small town Iowa girl, now I call Kansas City my home sweet home. I’m a Northwest Missouri State University graduate and current Graphic Designer for Saint Luke’s Health System. I enjoy working with the nonprofit industry and have a passion for using my skills to benefit the community.

I’m eager to get more involved with the Kansas City advertising community, especially when it comes to young professionals reaching their career goals. I want to be able to help others get started on their own path to success.

Outside of work, I live happily with my husband, Terner, and our dog son, TumTum. I’m a Kansas City Chiefs fanatic, 70’s and 80’s music enthusiast, and seek adrenaline watching the latest horror movies.


Jollene Garvey // Archer Education

Plant mom, avocado supporter, equal pay advocate, pantsuit aficionado, yogi, and Palm Springs native. I’m a Netflix fan who does partnership marketing, in that order.

I have a passion for strategy and anything creative as I help lead the Partnership Marketing team at Archer Education.

Previously, I’ve volunteered for Ad Wars events. This year, I’m helping with Virtual Agency. I’d love to join the team and help encourage involvement within the Kansas City community through Ad 2.


Terisia Hicks // Element, LLC

You can find me in the morning, saving the world from horrible design. With my headphones in, listening to My Favorite Murder. In the evening, I’m spending most of my paycheck on food surrounded by friends.

That’s why I love Ad 2.

It’s everything I enjoy in one organization—the food; ambitious, like-minded people; and fun. For the past two years, I’ve volunteered with Virtual Agency, helping brand both Kanbe’s Markets and the Kansas City Irish Center. This is where I’ve met friends within the advertising community.

This year, I want to share and promote these moments with others as an Ad 2 council member.


Meg Huwe // Big 6 Media

I graduated a Jayhawk and now currently work as a production manager for a startup company specializing in web marketing for attorneys. I’m detail-oriented and love getting involved in programs and initiatives that make a difference in my community.

I’m honored to be nominated for the Ad 2 council this year after being involved as a volunteer for Spark KC and Match KC. Ad 2 gave me the confidence I needed to transition from undergrad to the professional world. It has also helped me connect with a number of passionate and talented mentors and friends.

As an Ad 2 leader, I would bring passion, enthusiasm, and a relentless work ethic to the council. I would also be thrilled to work with the many talented individuals of Ad 2.

When not working, I love traveling, hiking in the mountains, running, drinking patio margaritas, and cuddling with my dog, Radley.


Amy Insco // Kazoo Media

My hometown is St. Joseph, but my heart belongs to the City of Fountains. I attribute my early interest in advertising to Hillshire Farm commercials circa 2007. From that first spot on, I found a love for all things media—social or digital, I’m your gal.

I’m most excited be nominated for the Ad 2 council because I want to get more involved with the movers and shakers of KC ad life and grow my skills.

When I’m not optimizing digital campaigns, you can find me hitting the running trail or listening to podcasts.


Ashley Kieffer // Freelance

I’m a designer, aspiring leader and outdoor-enthusiast. If you want to talk about beer, gardening, dogs, or disc golf—I’m your gal.

When not pursuing one of those things, I’m usually helping coordinate or attending an Ad 2 event. I’ve been a passionate volunteer for the club, quickly being pulled into the AAF-KC family when I first moved to the city four years ago.

As a volunteer, I helped brand the 2015 Spark KC student conference, 2016 Match KC event, 2016 Ad 2 spring education event, 2017 American Advertising Awards show, and June 2017 Ad Wars trivia event. I was elected to the Ad 2 council in 2017 and served as both Ad Wars and Virtual Agency Creative Director for my first year. Now, I’m wrapping up as Social Director for the monthly Ad Hops events.

To top off my Ad 2 resume, I was also nominated for 2017 Journey Awards Young Advertising Professional of the Year and received an Ad 2 Member of the Year nomination in both 2018 and 2019.

I hope I have your vote this year, so I can continue contributing to this amazing organization. And keep finding ways to elevate the advertising industry of Kansas City.


Brittney Long // Gear for Sports

As current Creative Designer for Champion Apparel, I first became involved with Ad 2 during the Match KC event where I met the Virtual Agency crew.

I have been volunteering with Virtual Agency ever since. It’s been a great experience to work on new projects and meet and collaborate with creative people.

Originally from Arkansas, my goal is to get involved and network with the Kansas City community. And getting to know those involved with Ad 2 has already been a great experience.

I look forward to becoming more involved in the industry and learning more about this organization and the people that keep it running.


Carolina Mach // VMLY&R

I’m a May 2018 graduate of Kansas State University currently rounding out my first year with VMLY&R. After working primarily with SKYY Vodka during my internship last summer, I was converted to a full-time associate connections manager on both the social and PR teams.

I was introduced to Ad 2 from a friend and started attending Ad Hops. At those events, I met and chatted with so many passionate people who all spoke the same language (advertizese) as me. I knew I wanted to become more involved, and help encourage others in our field.

When not working, I have an affinity for photography and videography—both of which I love to enjoy whenever I travel.


Lindsay McGonegle // Intouch Solutions

I became interested in branding before I even knew what it was. For my tenth birthday, I asked for a Canon PowerShot camera because I wanted to be like tennis player Maria Sharapova in the Canon commercial I loved.

I’m also a firm believer in the power of storytelling and I believe that good (and bad) experiences make for great stories. Now, I get to combine my two interests of branding and storytelling as an Account Manager at Intouch Solutions.

I attended Ad Hops last year and quickly got involved with the Virtual Agency public service campaign. Many of my friends come from science backgrounds, so having like-minded individuals in the same field as me has been a breath of fresh air.

I love learning from my peers and seeing all the great work that is being done around Kansas City. I’d like to help connect these incredible individuals and promote the advertising community here.

This May, I’m graduating with my Masters in Business Administration. In my free time I love to travel, practice yoga, and obsess over my beautiful nieces and nephew.


Kirstie Mulligan // A.D. Banker & Company

By day, I’m a Web Designer at A.D. Banker & Company. By night, aside from Ad 2, I’m trying to find new challenging creative outlets—like dance, kayaking, trivia, and even an axe-throwing league.

I have been an Ad 2 member since 2015, beginning as a volunteer with Virtual Agency and various events for two years. Elected to the council in 2017, I spent my first year as Co-Creative Director for the Gas Can Creative Conference. Currently, I serve as Design Director for Ad 2 Virtual Agency, helping brand the Kansas City Irish Center.

In 2017, I was nominated as Ad 2 Volunteer of the Year and this year I was awarded as Ad 2 Member of the Year. If elected, I look to continue volunteering, designing, and attending our fantastic events.


Brooke Purvis // Propaganda3

Looking for your next Ad 2 council member? Look no further.

A recent grad from Bearcat Nation at Northwest Missouri State, I attended several Ad Hops events and Match KC, where I met my current employer, Propaganda3.

At P3, I serve as project manager; maintaining client relationships and relevant site and/or app data, accessing the quality of our web and app builds before launch, managing client social media accounts, and developing the skills for HTML reading and coding.

As a nominee for Ad 2, I’m excited for the opportunity to learn from fellow ad-world professionals and further connect with students and the community.


Tyler Ross // Lewer Benefits Group

To those who I haven’t had the opportunity to speak with, I’m Kansas City born and raised. I’m an advocate for equality; a firm believer in doing the right thing, always.

I’ve worked at the Lewer Benefits Group for three years and currently serve as an Account Manager there. Volunteering for the AAF-KC Gas Can Creative Conference was my foot in the door, but serving on the Ad 2 Virtual Agency team for KC Passages really brought me into this group of fantastic young professionals.

I’m honored to be nominated for this year’s Ad 2 council, it really does mean a lot to me.

Fun fact: my to-do list is to visit every craft brewery in the area.


Shelby Simpson // Northwest Missouri State University

I’m a recent graduate from Northwest Missouri State where I earned a degree in Public Relations with an emphasis in advertising.

Since 2015, when I first got involved with AAF-KC and Ad 2, I’ve seen the benefit this organization has on students and working professionals. The Kansas City advertising community is special and full of talent.

I’m looking forward to the opportunity to be a part of Ad 2 and giving back to students the way other professionals did for me.


Hailey Stepanek // Lifestyle Publications

As a Graphic Designer at a local magazine, I’m passionate about creating valuable content for brands so they can connect with the people that need them most.

I’ve been involved with Virtual Agency for the past two years, designing elements—from booklets to billboards—for both Kanbe’s Markets and the Kansas City Irish Center. My favorite part about volunteering with VA is getting to know so many inspiring creatives.

Outside of design endeavors, I enjoy getting hyped up on caffeine at local cafés, jamming out at concerts and hanging out with my cat, Emma.
